A Quebec alliance tackling a global challenge: microplastics

October 8, 2025

Driving real change through smarter cleanup and stronger ESG performance in the industrial world.

Exprolink announces a strategic partnership with Hoola One Technologies, a Quebec-based company specializing in soil decontamination from plastics and microplastics on industrial and transshipment sites.

This partnership unites Exprolink’s urban cleaning know-how with Hoola One’s groundbreaking technology for resin separation and recovery.

  • Objective: Capture plastic pellets and microplastics at the source to achieve “zero loss,” demonstrate compliance through traceable data, and return recovered materials to the value chain.
  • Result: Real, measurable impact for the planet and for operations — fewer losses, fewer trips, and greater value.

At the heart of this partnership is the MPS50 microplastic separator — a patent-pending system engineered to isolate plastic pellets right at the source of collection.

Integrated into Exprolink’s Madvac equipment (LN50, LR50, LP61-G), the MPS50 takes over after debris collection. Once waste is vacuumed by the Madvac unit, the MPS50 efficiently separates and contains plastic resin pellets right on-site — minimizing transport, maximizing recovery, and turning decontamination into a fast, cost-efficient engine of circular economy.

“We strive for excellence where it truly matters — in the field, alongside partners who raise the standard. With Hoola One, we turn innovation into tangible results: compliance, efficiency, and ESG impact,” said Jean Bourgeois, President of Exprolink. “This milestone reinforces our relevance in complementary markets — rail corridors, industrial zones, and retention basins — in addition to the municipal sector.”

Tangible benefits for industries under pressure

Aligned with Operation Clean Sweep®, our approach focuses on tackling the issue at the source. By capturing and separating microplastics right where they’re released, we enhance operational performance and ensure full data traceability — delivering factual, verifiable proof of compliance and strengthening every organization’s environmental commitment.

  • Traceability & impact proof: measurable capture data, logged interventions, and easy-to-use reports for audits and ESG reviews.
  • Circular economy: recovered plastics are reintegrated into the production cycle, directly boosting ESG performance.
  • Operational efficiency: lower costs for transport, disposal, and manual cleaning operations.

Operation Clean Sweep® (OCS) is a global, industry-driven initiative committed to achieving zero resin loss — from manufacturing to handling and transport. Founded in the United States, OCS outlines best practices for containment, cleanup, regular employee training, internal audits, and risk mapping, as well as logistics and transport standards, to prevent and track any resin loss directly at the source.

Key applications
